The faculty members are carefully selected by the Institute for their facilitation, leadership abilities and Rotary knowledge. Facilitation of interactive workshops maximizes the involvement of participants and enhances learning.
Faculty are drawn from all areas of the member districts and occasionally from outside the member districts. Many faculty are present and past district governors, zone and district officers, successful past presidents and Rotarians with experience in special areas. Rotarians who are interested in becoming a faculty member are first required to complete all three RLI sessions.
Each new faculty member must attend an initial full day training program and, afterwards, various periodic reorientation programs. Shining Waters RLI schedules one or two faculty sessions each year.
RLI participants are asked to complete an evaluation of each module they attend during the session. The planning committee and faculty use the completed evaluations to help to improve content, instruction techniques and facilitation skills.
If you have interest in becoming an RLI facilitator, contact your district RLI Chair for more information.
